The Asian American Journalist Association’s Los Angeles Chapter opened its annual scholarship competition. Full-time college students in the Greater Los Angeles area are encouraged to apply for a chance at several scholarships of $2,500 each.

Eligible students include:
- Students who are committed to the AAJA’s mission and demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing journalism as a career.
- Full-time students who are enrolled in colleges and universities in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura counties and taking journalism related courses and pursuing careers in journalism.
- Membership in AAJA is encouraged for all applicants and required for those selected to receive scholarships. For membership information please visit AAJA’s website.
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges led by Henry Fuhrmann, chapter co-president and assistant managing editor at the Los Angeles Times.
